Mesa Verde National Park is the premier archeological park in the United States and a World Cultural Heritage Site. The cultural and natural resources in the Mesa Verde region are significant both nationally and internationally. On June 29, 2006, Mesa Verde will celebrate 100 years as the first national park set aside to preserve the works of humankind. To commemorate such a significant milestone, Mesa Verde National Park staff, the Mesa Verde Museum Association, the Mesa Verde Foundation, ARAMARK Mesa Verde Company, and surrounding communities are working together to plan a yearlong celebration in 2006.
